Recommended USB headset adapter?

Post by twharrell »

I have a pair of David Clarks I purchased before starting my PPL refresher training, but I'd also like to use them with PE. There seem to be a few USB headset adapters out on the market and es wondering if any of you have experience using these. If so, is there a particular brand that recommended or not recommended?

I do not have a USB version, but I do use a 3mm jack (x2)version. It is an EZ-FLITE BS-12
I has worked without a hitch for years.

I've been using the Flight Sound X usb adapter with my David Clarks for several months now. Works like a charm on my MacBook Pro.

Sounds like a good idea, but you could buy two and a half Logitech headphone/mic sets for that price.

I can understand wanting to use the same headset though.

I know what you mean, but as one who started out using a $25 Logitech USB headset, I absolutely LOVE my DC's. I've flown real world with them and logged quite a bit of X-Plane/PilotEdge time with them. It sure adds a sense of realism to me when I can use the same headset in the sim as I use in real life.

I concur with Steve.

Speaking of headgear, my mother-in-law saw me wearing my AOPA cap while simming, so she started teasing me about "puttin' on my lil' flyin' hat" to "play airplanes" on the computer.

I pointed out that the cap was there to hold up my TrackIR reflector, but for some reason, this didn't stop her from laughing. :)

Does AOPA beat out ASA head gear?

All I can say is, your SYSTEM sure beats the heck out of mine. Nice.
