Sounds kewl. Just remember I need mega prep time compared to you experts, just don't know how you do it. There is a superb approach from the north where you fly very high parallel to the Golden Gate heading south and at the last minute do a steep descent and left onto the 28s. Might require some coordination with ATC so not for tomorrow, but I do remember it as one of those real world specials where the sim does recreate the feeling.
The steep descent from the NW is usually followed by a right turn over the bay onto final for the 28's. It's known as the 'down the bay' visual. The standard procedure from the NW is for left traffic onto the 28's, and is a gentler descent gradient.
Thanks Keith you prodded my memory as to where I saw it recently. It was a video of a real world flight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lkx4BcCfkmI, an A380 approach & final. Left or right base, I am sure it has changed a few times since then.
Same as yesterday KLAX-KSFO (http://peaware.pilotedge.net/flight.cfm?id=35781) would be fine by me. Or KLAS-KSFO (http://peaware.pilotedge.net/flight.cfm?id=35869) as it has a few more out of the way places to enter a holding pattern. Bottom line though is we either need to be terribly smart with our speeds, or have the controller in the know and helping. Anthony was so busy controlling I doubt he even noticed he forced an approach reprogram on me. Either way I might decline if it's all too much for a while. KLAX onto 28L and KLAS onto 28R is not an unrealistic expectation. You're the boss on this one Bruce so bark out the commands. See you on the company channel shortly, after a clean up and reboot.
Start of proceedings tomorrow 0100 Saturday 27th July (my time), 0800 PDT Friday 26th July (SoCal's time), I will be back in the captain's seat of my beloved B744. See you in the company channel on DTP in approximately 3.5 hours.
