Pushback and startup
Pushback and startup
As I was advised few times by a controller on PE I always have pilot's discretion for pushback and startup and I should only call for taxi when ready (at least that's my understanding). I use GSX to have realistic pushback and after that operation I end up on a taxiway. Depending on the duration of pushback itself I may need 1-2 minutes to complete after start and before taxi checklists before being ready for taxi. That means that I'm occupying taxiway without clearance for noticeable amount of time. I'd like to verify that it is really OK, or do I misunderstood sth in that procedure.

Re: Pushback and startup
no need to call for push if you remain in a non movement area. If you will enter the taxiway, then you should call for the push onto that taxiway.
