I have a number of sceneries for non towered airports in the PE coverage area. I dont see them listed on the coverage area map. If they are not on the map is it safe to assume that the frequencies are monitored by other pilots when announcing your position?
For example Bakersfield Municipal....its not on the map for having tower services.

As long as you're on the CTAF or Unicom for that non-towered field you can report to and hear reports from other aircraft. I believe you'll pick up a large area on those frequencies so be sure to name the airfield again at the end of position reports as to not confuse pilots at other fields.
Also be aware that pilots don't -have- to be reporting at non towered despite it being good form, so it's not 100% "safe to assume" they're on frequency.

The coverage area map is intended to indicate the geographic boundaries of the PilotEdge service. While it should be correct, the 'towered' markings are intended for geographic orientation, not to serve as a primary data source
You should use your A/FD or other real-world-appropriate source to determine the towered status, frequencies, etc. In this case, you are correct - L45 is not towered and you should use CTAF just as you would in the real world.
The only exception to the statement above is military fields, which are towered in the real world but treated as uncontrolled on PilotEdge, using the normal tower frequency as CTAF, and the only exception to the exception are the joint-use military/civil fields (KNYL and KRIV), which are towered on PilotEdge.

Nigel, the map says, "Here’s a map illustrating PilotEdge’s total coverage area, with towered airports marked." Bakersfield Municipal is a non-towered airport, and as a result, is not listed on the map.

Keith, yes I am familiar with the difference I was just curious if all all airports in the service area would work including the non towered. So when I take off from Bakersfield Mun. then I just need to contact the appropriate dep/app facilities once I leave the airspace to report in.

Very good. Yes, that's correct. You can cold call on the published approach/enroute frequencies. You can also contact ATC via the approach freqs while you're on the ground at the non-towered airports (since we don't do phone-based clearances).
