real world ifr series

Post by dental1 »

I am thinking about purchasing this series and was wondering if it is designed for non real world pilots and if it serves as a compliment to the workshops, or is it a condensed version of the material covered in the workshops for those of us that dont have the time to watch all of the workshops
thx Lee

Here is a thread that was created by a non rw pilot regarding RW IFR: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=5133

RW IFR is broken into 2 portions, an IFR refresher and then a series of flown scenarios. The details of each section are laid out on the RW IFR sales page so you'll have a fair idea of what is covered by the program.

The IFR refresher is of considerably higher quality than the workshops. There are better quality visuals, the flow is better and they are considerably more polished. Lost comms, ODPs, SIDs and holding receive a better treatment (in my opinion) than they did in the workshops. It also covers DIverse Vector Areas (a relatively new topic for IFR pilots), which weren't covered by the workshops.

The scenarios have no parallel to the workshops, they are completely unique to the product.

The workshops were held live (no editing) with a maximum of 20 mins of preparation (that includes the creation of the slides) prior to each session. RW IFR was worked on continuously for nearly 9 months. The difference in quality is substantial.
