That was the question. FltPlan Go has ways to hook into real ADS-B devices, and when you add a "custom" device in the app it asks for a device name and port number. Any idea what port the ForeFlight-compatible data is being sent on?
For those folks reading this:
* FltPlan Go is free and is on iOS and Android. My experience is with the iOS version on an old iPad 2 with WiFi
* It has all of the VFR and IFR charts like Skyvector uses.
* It has airport diagrams and approach procedures that are current.
* It has a moving map to show you where you are on the chart
* If you have a flight plan entered, it will show that on the chart in relation to your current position.
I would suggest that all X-Plane users get this app and use it when you can. It makes it easier to be airspace-aware, even when the aircraft in the sim has the X-Plane GPS installed. Now I'm considering a Foreflight subscription to get traffic, but this free app works just fine.
For the FSX users that stumble across this: I can't get the companion app running on Windows 10, the app that sends data from FSX to FltPlan Go, but it seems to have worked for others on older OSes in the past.
