[Solved/Kinda] SmartCopilot Not Connecting

Post by Kyle.Sanders »

I got this to work once a long time ago but that was with XP9 and I can't remember how it all played out.

I am running XP10.42 (no beta) and my copilot is as well.

Regardless, before we even mess with my copilot, I should be able to connect as Master first.

I click Connect (as master) and it just keeps "listening..." as a status. No KB transfer at all. Then obviously since I can't connect... my copilot can't.

We are using hamachi from LogMeIn. We have connection established through that. He has my IP and I have his "25.130...." We leave the ports alone... Im not sure what to do

I think an issue might related to this but not sure... So I am using the SmartCopilot plugin 1.30 (he is too) -- viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6097

More Troubleshooting...

I finally got connected using v2.05 with my friend. Initially he had a "licensed/paid" version and I had the demo. Once I found that out- I knew it acts differently in that situation. So he removed his license from the Smartcopilot folder, we both then deleted our smartcopilot2.log and SmartCopilot preference files. We started up and everything was running good... so we thought.

Hey Kyle. Have you tried using logmein from Hamachi that's how a friend and I had been able to do it in the past. Also make sure you're both using the same version and same version of the smartcopilot script.

If you use the LogMeIn app from Hamachi and it's "green" then you know you have the first part done - the VPN. Then you have to start SmartCopilot on the right IP address (in the settings part of the plugin). Once it's started, then the Master clicks "connect" and the slave clicks "connect" and THEN both will sync up.

Everything on both ends has to be the same - X-Plane, plugins for SC and the plane, plane software version and the SC config file version.

It's kinda a mess to get started, but once it works...man is it awesome.

All done and checked... then checked again. Still nothing. I am working with a friend that knows a LITTLE about coding and he thinks there is something wrong with my libraries.
