Outside coverage?

I tried the search function and got an error. I am sure this has been asked a 100 different ways. Is it possible to start a flight in the Socal coverage area and fly somewhere outside of it? How would the handoff go?

Yes, you may. You will have full coverage within SoCal until you are out of ZLA/ ZOA airspace
ATC: Delta 45, leaving the pilotedge coverage area, Radar services terminated, frequency change approved
