Departing Sunday around 8:30am, N07, KGVQ (213nm), ETE 1hr 11mins. Pick up fuel and then either:
VFR - KGVQ ECK HIC FAH RIPON FISKE KOSH (485nm, 2hr 34mins ETE without winds, and there will almost certainly be headwinds, ~25 gallons), OR
IFR - KGVQ WOZEE T608 HAVOK T781 FNT MKG V510 FAH KOSH (467nm, 2hr 27mins ETE)
The VFR is longer because it includes the RIPON FISKE VFR arrival. If I were to do the IFR routing, cancel near OSH, then do the VFR arrival, the IFR routing would be 493nm total. That's only a 8nm difference between the VFR and IFR routing.
The return trip will be almost VFR direct, non-stop with the prevailing winds. With 15kt tailwind, it'll be 3hr 12mins enroute, 31 gallons. 655nm direct, but my routing is 3nm longer to minimize the over-water time at Lake Erie.
Who else is going and what route/numbers are you planning?

I'll mostly be following hwy 10, VFR. Should be right around 1hr 10mins. Maybe 3 gallons. Oh, and I'll be driving my car.

Might stop and get gas at 1G5 instead of KGVQ so I can say hi to Ken Ullery. The new VFR route would look like this: https://skyvector.com/?ll=42.1568883351 ... FAH%20KOSH. It adds about 20nm over the current VFR trip, provides a bit of variety to the normal route, allows me to visit a new airport, say hello to a friend, and also arrive at OSH with more gas in the tank.

I'm departing Sunday at 5:00am PDT, N229WA. KSFF to KDIK direct at 17,000. IFR. Should get at least a 20k tailwind. Then KDIK to KCWA direct. Staging at CWA for an IFR arrival slot into KOSH reserved for 3:45pm.Keith Smith wrote:Departing Sunday around 8:30am, N07

Last year I flew 612SR VFR with my stop in Bismark. As fun as it was, the 80-90 knot holding pattern around Green Lake with full flaps for an hour convinced me to go IFR the next time.

You too, see you at the show! I'll get something posted when I can to schedule a meetup. One during the week and one on the w/end, I suspect.
