Satellite internet?
I've been trying to make this work, from what little I could use it, it seems awesome. But I have satellite internet ( Hughs net) and I just don't think it's going to cut it. Satellite is all that's available for me. Is anyone on here using one? Some are supposed to be faster than others but do any of them really work well enough? Sucks.. The joys of living in the sticks.

Re: Satellite internet?
The latency is going be pretty bad, I wouldn't think it would work well. There is no way to speed it up, the round trip time of transmitting to and from the satellite is what it is.

Re: Satellite internet?
A friend of mine uses sattelite internet. He get's about 10-20 mbps (depending on the weather mostly) and a ping of about 800ms-1000ms (about a second, so to say). The speed is ok-ish for most things, but the ping is quite bad compared to a regular connection. I don't know if this would be acceptable for PE, and that's a provider in Germany, so I can't comment on comparable services in other countries.

I have been working in the TV and communication satellite industry for 20yrs now. Satellite internet will not work for gaming! To much time latency.
