Even if I'm using flight following? And as best as I can tell Ontario looks like class C? Still new to this and l'd be great full
For any help. Thanks

Before continuing with the ratings, (my opinion) I would suggest going through the first four video workshops (from bottom-up). http://www.pilotedge.net/workshops

Now... to answer your question:

When getting Flight Following (radar services), you never have to request permission to enter ANY airspace other than Restricted or Class B airspace. The Class B airspace will have the Magic Words "Cleared into/through the ____ bravo airspace" in the clearance. If you dont hear that, dont go in!

Side track over... The class C transition is handled for you.

Further more on why you should watch those workshops is because you would know that you never need "Permission" to enter the Class C airspace, you only need "Two-way communication" to be established and a Mode C transponder.

In short- go watch those videos... take notes and have google open on the other window haha!

Steve, check the transcript, cockpit video and workshop on vfr airspace. Only requirement for entering class is to establish communication with ATC. If you are receiving flight following, you have met the requirement.
