Heyo,
Anyone know how to keep the radios alive when shutting down engines for engine out practice? Idle just isn't as fun and I think I made a lost comms headache tonight when I lost the avionics...

Yea they do for a short time on the Bell and the DA40 but if I cut the mixture on the TBM it gets scary quiet. I can get like 3 mins off the battery if lucky...I guess it's kinda most realistic huh?

I've never flown either so I'm not sure. If that is realistic, I would suggest declaring the emergency, give a short description of what you are going to do ("going to fly the full ILS 20R approach and terminate my communications at this time to conserve battery life")... Wait for a quick response and then I might kill all non-essential equipment (that draws battery power) and get down to the ground ASAP.

Re: Engine Out Q
something is wrong in the TBM it should last a lot more than 3 mins on battery. Use data input output to check the draw.
