Best IFR textbook?
Hi-
I am going to be giving my brother ground school for an instrument rating. Can anyone suggest the best textbook to teach from? I am looking for something fairly modern, so things like GPS will be included. Also, if you know something modern or digital simulator and you share with me I would be greatful.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Best IFR textbook?
I am a big fan of Rod Machado's Instrument Pilot's Handbook, available here.

Re: Best IFR textbook?
I learned IFR from Rod Machado's Instrument Survival Manual, with occasional dives into the Aeronautical Information Manual, the Instrument Flying Handbook and and the Instrument Procedures Handbook (all 3 of which are freely available online in PDF format).
I haven't actually tried Rod's Instrument Pilot Handbook yet, but I have feeling it's a great reference and would +1 Harold's recommendation of its use.
