Here is a quick video of me flying the C182T (G1000) from Evansville to Indy. Seems like we were right at 11,000 on this trip...no approach as the camera batteries went dead...but it was well above mins....
Nothing exciting but some pretty scenery from the front seat.

Re: Real World Flying Videos w/ ATC
Digging this thread up to post a couple of videos I found on another forum.
A student pilot's first solo XC from KSNA to KRNM and back. Really well shot and edited.
KSNA - KRNM along the coast then inland at OCN VOR:

KRNM - KSNA inland route via F70 then direct to ELB VOR:

Will do Bruce. It's funny, whenever I see something interesting on the net that relates to ATC procedures, especially in SoCal, I consider posting it on the PE forum.
Question for the experts regarding the vids in my last post: I've never heard of orbiting the field prior to joining the pattern, at least at a towered airport. Is there any benefit to that? You should already have the ATIS so it's not like you need to check the windsock. Sounded like it just annoyed the guy working RNM's tower, but then I'm only a wannabe pilot with little r/w experience.

I believe the guy just wanted to enter the 45 for practice based on what he was saying in that video (videos are great by the way)... It definitely would have confused me if I were working up there receiving a request like that as well.

Re: Real World Flying Videos w/ ATC
So here's something a bit different. Real world flying w/ "aerial ATC". These are a series of cockpit videos from the National Guard MAFFS C-130's dropping over the past week at the "Rim Fire" in and near Yosemite National Park. The comms are between the C-130 and the lead plane who is vectoring him and clearing traffic. C-130's and the DC-10 follow a lead plane which you can see in the video who will communicate with the aircraft and will spit a little vapor to indicate where the drop should occur. I just spent the last week on this fire (not flying, but on the ground on a Northwest division of the fire). I just got home today and wanted to share these. These videos are just of the "Rim Fire" but the channel has many other ones on it as well. Just a different side of aviation.

Little bonus. The DC-10 doing drops. No comms, but a good look at the lead plane and the awesomeness of the DC-10 in this capacity.
