So I recently started trying my hand at flying in aircraft other than little Cessna's, etc on PE. (IE. aircraft that have FMS's)
I have to say that the implementation of FMS's frustrates me to no end. First most of the aircraft that I have purchased have not so great instructions on it, and it seems like every route is very hit or miss. Am I wrong in thinking this?
For example, with a route like this: KSAN MZB293R SLI148R SLI KLAX (which is SANN4 TEC route btw.)
There appears to be no way of inputing radials and or LONG/LATS in to the FMS of any aircraft I have.. Do I just have to avoid these routes all together, or am forced to toss out the FMS and fly it by hand? (seems slightly unrealistic.)
Right now I'm attempting to learn this process on the following aircraft:
- Flight 1 King Air 200
- Flight 1 Citation Mustang
- Aerosoft Airbus X Extended
The Airbus FMS actually frustrated me so much that I finally stopped even trying to fly it, as it seems to be missing all kinds of information in it from SID/STAR transitions to waypoints. (and this is AFTER I paid to get the navigation updates!)
Any advice would be hugely appreciated as I'm going nuts.
