Keep your eyes open if you're VFR! Even with a flight following :) Controllers might just been too busy to worry about you

Ahh, my beloved A2A Cherokee 180...must've been fun getting her up to 10.5 in the first place, only to nearly get run over by an uppity Baron. Head on a swivel!

Without a doubt, the A2A Cherokee is the best simplane I've flown. It's the only reason I keep FSX/P3D around anymore

Agreed. Even though I have both a2a cessnas, Piper is my favorite hands down. I look forward to bigger beasts now though, like RealAir Turbine Duke ..

DavidC: actually it's not that hard to get up there :) I try to fly 12500, in this case I just had to step down a little bit due to some clouds ahead.

I have the RealAir Turbine Duke too, and it's a joyful airplane. The modeling is wonderful and it's an absolute rocket. It's not as difficult to stay ahead of as I expected, with the exception of learning to manage your power early due to the sluggish response of a turbine compared to a piston. It also doesn't have the persistence features that A2A provides, but it does have a cold and dark option and in-game checklists (via FSX's Kneeboard in the menus).

The only reason I haven't flown the Duke on PE is...the faster I'm moving, the faster I have to make radio calls and freq switches. I'm not ready for that yet. :D
